Work
The measure of energy transfer that occurs when an object is moved by an external force along a displacement. In applied mathematics, it is the product of the force component in the direction of motion and the magnitude of the displacement.
Example
If a constant force of $10 \text{ N}$ moves an object $5 \text{ meters}$ in the exact direction of the force, the work done is $W = F \times d = 10 \times 5 = 50 \text{ Joules}$.
