Segment
In geometry, a line segment is a part of a line that is bounded by two distinct end points. It contains every point on the line that is between its endpoints. In the context of a circle, a segment is the region bounded by a chord and an arc.
Example
A line segment connecting points $A$ and $B$ is denoted as $\overline{AB}$. Its length represents the shortest distance between these two points.
