Integer

An integer is a whole number that can be positive, negative, or zero, but does not include any fractional or decimal parts. Integers are often used to represent discrete quantities such as counting objects, temperature degrees, or steps on a number line.

Example

The set of integers is denoted by $\mathbb{Z}$ and includes numbers like: $$ \{ \dots, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, \dots \} $$
