Fraction

A fraction represents a part of a whole or any number of equal parts. It is written as two numbers separated by a horizontal line, where the top number (numerator) shows how many parts we have, and the bottom number (denominator) shows into how many equal parts the whole is divided.

Example

If a pizza is divided into 8 equal slices and you eat 3 slices, the fraction of the pizza you ate is: $$ \frac{3}{8} $$
